    6 October 2026

    Run skills manually

You can now run skills manually. This gives you a quick way to ask Burp AT to use a particular testing technique without describing the steps yourself.

To run a skill manually, type /, then select a skill from the menu.

Skills provide focused instructions for tackling particular testing problems. They follow your existing tool permissions and autonomy settings.

For more information on using skills, see Skills.

    2 October 2026

    Set broad testing goals

You can now set goals in Burp AT. Goal loops help Burp AT to tackle larger or more complex tasks. When you set a goal, Burp AT continues its work until it achieves the goal or has to stop.

To set a goal, enter /goal followed by a clear result that Burp AT can check. After each response, Burp AT checks its progress and continues until it achieves the goal or has to stop.

You can send follow-up prompts to guide the work. To replace the goal, enter another /goal prompt. To remove it, enter /goal clear.

Your tool permissions and autonomy settings still apply when Burp AT is working towards a goal.

Longer tasks can use more AI credits, so define the result carefully.

For more information on using goals, see Goals.

    Other improvements

    • 8 October

Find the right Burp resource more easily.

The resource picker now separates requests and responses from issues, and shows which Burp tool each item came from. This makes it easier to recognise the evidence you want to attach.

    • 7 October

      Find tasks that need attention.

The Tasks panel now shows which of your tasks and sub-tasks have errors, pending approvals and unread results. Open the relevant task to inspect it or respond.

    • 5 October

Clearer stopping behaviour for goal loops.

Burp AT now stops a goal and marks it as stalled after six consecutive responses without using a tool. This helps to limit time and credit use.

    • 5 October

      Respond to approvals later.

Approval requests no longer have a time limit. Pending requests stay open until you respond or cancel the action.

  2. September 2026

    28 September 2026

    More readable tool results

Burp AT now displays structured tool results in cards, making them easier to scan and understand. This happens automatically when a tool returns supported structured data.

    17 September 2026

    Attach files to a task

You can now attach external files to a Burp AT task. This enables you to provide supporting evidence and reference material alongside resources from Burp.

To attach a file, click the + icon in the message box, select Attach a file..., then choose your file. You can also drag files into the message box or paste supported images.

Burp AT supports documents, source code, structured data, images and other common file formats. Each file can be up to 25 MiB. You can remove an unsent file using the x icon on its file card.

For more information on attaching files, see Tasks.

    17 September 2026

    Set Burp AT's reasoning effort

You can now set reasoning effort for tasks in Burp AT. Use a higher level for difficult work that needs deeper analysis, or a lower level to control time and credit use during routine testing.

To set reasoning effort, select an option from the Effort menu in the message box. If you change the effort level during a task, it applies when you next send a prompt. Responses that are already in progress keep their existing level.

Setting reasoning effort does not set a spending limit.

For more information on reasoning effort, see Tasks.

    16 September 2026

    Queue follow-up prompts

You can now queue follow-up prompts while Burp AT is working. This enables you to prepare next steps without interrupting the current work. Burp AT runs queued prompts one at a time, in order.

To queue a prompt, type it in the message box and press Enter. Select Run now to stop the current turn and run a queued prompt next, or use the x icon to remove it from the queue.

The queue pauses while Burp AT waits for approval. Select Stop to end the current work without sending queued prompts.

For more information on queueing prompts, see Tasks.

    Other improvements

    • 16 September

Approve similar actions in a task.

In Smart mode, select Approve for this session to let Burp AT consider your approval when evaluating similar calls of the same tool in the current task. This reduces repeated approval requests. Burp AT may still ask for approval if a call differs significantly from the original or if other safety checks require approval. This option is not offered for tools that always require approval.

    • 16 September

      Redirect a proposed action.

You can now select Reject & redirect to reject a tool action and enter a replacement instruction. This lets you steer the task when the proposed action is unsuitable.
