How do I install Burp Suite?

Burp Suite uses a single installer for both Community Edition and Professional.

During installation, you're prompted to choose an edition:

  • Community Edition: Our core manual testing toolkit. Ideal for learning and hands-on testing.
  • Professional: The gold standard toolkit for penetration testers. Built for efficient, automated testing, and advanced workflows.

If you're upgrading from an earlier version of Burp Suite, your configuration is migrated automatically, so you can continue working without interruption.

Note: We updated the Burp Suite installer in version 2026.4 to use a single installer for all editions. If your automation or scripts reference earlier installers or their file paths, you’ll need to update them.
