Hey, I'm Jonny. I've been working at PortSwigger since I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2015 which makes this the first and only full time job I've had! I did computing at college when it was a relatively new course and thoroughly enjoyed it, so then went on to do Computer Science at uni. Towards the end of my studies I was keen to get into development, so applied for a graduate dev job at PortSwigger and never looked back!

What was your best day at PortSwigger?

The Burp 2.0/Burp Enterprise release day. It concluded months of fun working on the coolest stuff we'd done so far and we had a massive party at the end!

If you could have lunch with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

Pep Guardiola. He's brought a lot of happiness to my life and also seems like a really cool guy.

What is your most used web application?

Twitter. Such a simple idea for an app but it's my one go to place for news, football updates and interaction with friends and family.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Footballer. From being a kid right up until now playing football remains my favorite thing to do. I've just never been good enough to get paid for it!

When did you first hear about PortSwigger, or Burp Suite?

The University of Sheffield careers page! "There's a job for a Java Developer in Knutsford here, that sounds interesting ... "

What is your favorite gadget?

Has to be my iPhone. I unashamedly cant live without it.

Who would play you in the film adaptation of your life?

I think Ryan Reynolds looks a bit like me.

What would your superhero power be and why?

Not exactly a superpower but if I could wake up one morning and all of a sudden be the best in the world at golf, that would be nice!

What's the proudest achievement of your life?

Buying a house with my girlfriend, Emily. It's become notoriously difficult for young people to get on the property ladder these days so it was a happy day when we collected the keys.

What was your first computer?

Technically my PS1! Perhaps that shows my relative youth ...

What do you think makes PortSwigger different?

I think the relaxed environment and friendly team make PortSwigger a fun and pleasant place to work while still being very productive!
