Although I'm originally from Algeria, I moved and lived in Aix en Provence which is a lovely small Provençal town in Southern France. At the university there, I studied Biotechnology for many years. I did a PhD and I was considering working as a researcher but I decided to move into software development because that's what I really like and enjoy most. My first programming language was Python but my first job was as a .Net developer - I've switched to .Net tech since then. In 2017, I moved with my family to the beautiful city of Manchester in North West England, looking for new challenges. I worked for different companies in the North. Last year, I heard about an exciting software developer role within the web team at PortSwigger. I loved the opportunity and I joined the company in February last year.
The working environment and the company culture are awesome. Here at PortSwigger we work very hard while having fun and we have all we need to be successful.
I think my PhD is my proudest achievement so far. I met lovely and smart people, I discovered new things but also it was full of sacrifices. I'm proud of this accomplishment and I feel that what I learned gave me a big advantage in my career.
My favorite gadget is my mobile phone. Besides keeping in touch with family and friends, I can use it to do everything I enjoy, from listening to music and playing games, to social media platforms and other apps.
