On the Sites page, the site tree shows all of the sites that you have created in Burp Suite Enterprise Edition. However, as your list of sites begins to grow, it is a good idea to organize your site tree using folders and subfolders. For example, you could organize your sites based on their geographic location. However, any hierarchical structure is possible.

Folders also have their own dashboards, so you can view filtered metrics for all sites in a specific folder.

You can even use folders to restrict access, so users are only able to access data for sites that are relevant to them.

Creating folders and subfolders

To create a new folder, on the Sites page, in the upper-right corner, click the New folder button. A new folder appears in the list, where you can give it an appropriate name. Please note that folder names must be unique within their directory.

To the right of where the folder appears in the list, there are icons for creating a new site, creating a new subfolder, and deleting the current folder.

If you click on a folder, you will see the dashboard for this folder, showing metrics, scans, and issues for all sites in this folder. Exactly what is shown depends on whether you have completed any scans.

Adding sites to a folder

Once you have created a folder, you can add sites to it to group them. You can create new sites directly within a folder in a couple of different ways:

  • Click the Create site icon to the right in the Actions column.
  • When creating a new site, use the Select folder drop-down menu.

To add an existing site to a folder you can either:

  • Click the item in the site tree, go to the Details tab, and click Select folder.
  • Select one or more sites using the checkboxes to the left of the screen to open the bulk actions menu, then choose Move and select a destination directory.

Moving folders and subfolders

To move a folder to a new location within the site tree, select the checkbox to the left of the folder, then choose Move from the bulk actions menu that appears. Finally, select a new parent folder into which you want to move the current folder.

Moving a site or folder to the top-level of the site tree

To move a site or folder to the top-level or "root" of the site tree, select the relevant items using the checkboxes to the left of the screen to open the bulk actions menu, then choose Move. In the dialog, click Move without selecting a parent folder.

Deleting sites and folders

To delete individual sites or folders, click the trash can icon in the Actions column to the right of the screen.

To delete multiple sites or folders at the same time, select the relevant items using the checkboxes to the left of the screen to open the bulk actions menu, then choose Delete.
