We are recruiting a product marketing manager to fuel PortSwigger's growth, helping us to scale efficiently by understanding what our customers need and articulating how we make their worlds better.

About you

You have a flair for communicating technical messages to different audiences.

You're equally excited by opportunities to gain insight from customers and to articulate how we can meet their needs. This means you're not uncomfortable initiating conversations, asking questions, and writing what you've learned.

You have an organized and structured approach to solving problems and achieving your goals.

You may not have a specific background in cybersecurity, but you're confident that you can quickly know our users, understand our magic, and connect the two. It's not the first time you had to learn about a new field.

You're ambitious and driven. You set exceptionally high standards in everything that you do. You set demanding goals and are always looking beyond them to learn and excel.

You have an excellent academic record. You've worked in the technology sector, with experience in marketing. You relish the opportunity to enable an already successful business to reach even higher.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of customer personas, ensuring everyone's work is underpinned with a deep understanding of our target buyers.
  • Use customer insight to produce useful content, articulate the value of our solutions, anticipate our customers' questions, and advocate for our users' needs.
  • Ensure our trial users see the value in our products, supporting our customer happiness team to deliver a winning customer experience. Create FAQs, messaging guides, and other assets useful to our reps and our customers.
  • Package and present our product offerings, owning the delivery of product content that describes the value our customers can achieve, the features & functionality they love, and illuminates our unique capabilities.
  • Create and maintain a content plan that delivers our key messages. Partner with our content team to produce content that customers find very useful.
  • Set up processes to ensure we maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, including win/loss analysis, insights sharing programs, customer advisory panels, etc.

Essential skills

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write, to communicate verbally (concisely and precisely) and to have productive conversations with our customers.
  • Highly organized and structured in your approach, using product marketing frameworks and/or processes to speed work. A strong ability to multitask, prioritize work, and keep to deadlines.
  • Analytical. An inclination and ability to take a data-driven approach, using quantitative and qualitative data to make recommendations.
  • High EQ. Able to collaborate effectively and to quickly create connections. Product marketing is a bridge between our customer-facing teams (marketing, customer happiness, tech support) and our product teams. You're comfortable creating the connection between our customers and our products.
  • Experience in or a deep appreciation for marketing or selling technology. An understanding of typical technology buying processes.
  • A passion for product marketing would be great, but you don't need to be a career product marketing person to do this job well. The right person will be able to quickly apply product marketing frameworks. You are smart and a quick learner.

8% employer pension contribution.
Life assurance: 4x salary.
Income protection: full pay for first 6 months of incapacity followed by 75% of salary plus pension contribution.

Working hours Core hours are 9am to 5pm, with flexibility to start any time between 8am and 9.30am.
