The Proxy page contains settings for:

  • Proxy history logging.
  • Default proxy interception state.

Proxy history logging

You can configure Burp Proxy to stop sending out-of-scope items to the history or live tasks when new items are added to the target scope. This is useful as a means of avoiding accumulating project data for out-of-scope items.

The Proxy history logging setting enables you to manage this process. There are three options available:

  • Stop sending out-of-scope items to the Proxy history and other Burp tools when items are added to target scope.
  • Prompt for action when items are added to the target scope.
  • Do nothing when items are added to the target scope.

The Proxy history logging settings are user settings. They apply to all installations of Burp on your machine.

Default Proxy interception state

This setting controls whether Proxy interception is enabled by default when Burp starts up.

There are three options available:

  • Always enable interception.
  • Always disable interception.
  • Restore the setting from when Burp was last closed.

The Default Proxy interception state settings are user settings. They apply to all installations of Burp on your machine.
