Goal loops help Burp AT to tackle larger or more complex tasks. When you set a goal, Burp AT continues its work until it achieves the goal or has to stop.
Setting a goal
To set a goal, enter /goal followed by a result that Burp AT can verify. For example:
/goal Test every input to this endpoint for server-side injection. Continue until each input is confirmed, rejected, or marked inconclusive.Goal text can contain up to 16,000 UTF-8 bytes. Some characters use more than one byte. If Burp AT rejects a goal as too long, then shorten the goal text and send it again.
After each response, Burp AT checks whether it has achieved the goal. If not, it continues working automatically.
Burp AT does not apply a fixed time or response limit to a goal. If Burp AT sends six responses in a row without using a tool, it stops working on the goal.
While working toward a goal, Burp AT follows the autonomy mode and tool permissions of the task it is running in. If an action needs approval, Burp AT pauses until you respond.
Burp AT can delegate parts of a goal to workers within the task. Burp AT waits for workers to finish any work needed to achieve the goal before marking it as complete.
Sub-tasks have separate conversations. Burp AT cannot create sub-tasks while a goal is active in the original task.

For more information on autonomy modes and tool permissions, see Configuring autonomy.
Steering or replacing a goal
To steer Burp AT's work without changing its current goal, send a follow-up prompt. Burp AT acts on the new prompt while continuing toward the same goal.
To replace the current goal, start another prompt with /goal. Burp AT stops working towards the previous goal and starts working towards the replacement. Workers from the previous goal may continue running. Click Stop to stop current work and cancel unfinished workers.
Stopping or clearing a goal
To stop Burp AT's current action but keep the current goal active, click Stop. This also cancels unfinished delegated workers. An external action already in progress may finish. To resume work towards the goal, send a new prompt.
To clear the current goal, enter /goal clear. Burp AT stops working towards the goal. Delegated workers may continue running after you clear a goal. Click Stop to cancel unfinished workers.
Checking goal status
When there is an active goal, Burp AT displays the goal and its status above the message box. The status shows whether Burp AT is working or waiting for approval. The final status tells you whether Burp AT achieved the goal, stopped, or could not confirm the result.
